A time of appreciation
Held on the full moon in the Hindu month of Ashad (July-August) every year, Guru Purnima is an ancient tradition of festival dedicated to spiritual teachers. This festival is traditionally celebrated by Hindus, Jains and Buddhists as a time to pay respect to teachers and express gratitude for the teachings.
For many thousands of years, the acquired wisdom of humanity has been continually analysed, tested and added to by men and women who may be called yogis or mystics who were the scientists of their time. It is from there concern for humanity that they had taken the trouble to educate their students and disciples in the nature of what it means to be human.
